Two Charged Over Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack
Two men have been charged following a luggage theft where a substance thought to be capsaicin spray resulted in harm at the UK's busiest airport.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, now face two counts of robbery and charges for using a harmful chemical, authorities have stated.
These accusations come after an investigation into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on Sunday. Earlier that day, two women were robbed of their suitcases stolen after exiting a car park lift, according to law enforcement.
A toddler was caught up in the incident during the incident. Several persons required hospital care and were eventually allowed to go home.
This event – which authorities stated was not part of a series and deemed non-terroristic – led to disruptions to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a limited duration.
