The Initial Game Pass Titles of 2026 Demonstrate Xbox Isn't Giving Up Yet.
Everywhere you go, enthusiasts continue to ring the funeral bells for the Xbox brand. Microsoft's console just got outsold by a platform few have heard of. Xbox fan sites have started writing about PlayStation unprecedentedly. 2025 was a period of total upheaval for the tech giant's gaming arm. Yet, based exclusively on what's coming to Game Pass in 2026, it is apparent that Microsoft still intends to engage players with quality releases on its flagship service.
The Available Now Titles
The two games you can play right now today, Brews & Bastards and Little Nightmares Enhanced Edition, aren't the showstoppers. Instead, the excitement lies in what's arriving to Game Pass over the next few weeks that's deserving of attention.
Significant Forthcoming Releases
Starting January 13th, Game Pass will add the often-overlooked Star Wars Outlaws, a sprawling adventure that breaks up conventional open-world tropes with a cosmic robbery tale. Another big get is Resident Evil Village and its giant Lady Dimitrescu, which our 2021 review called "a superb mixture of horror and action."
Compelling Indie Titles
But even the smaller games arriving shortly on the service deserve recognition. Lost In Random: The Eternal Die, the criminally overlooked roguelike offering thrilling gameplay, arrives January 7th — and you should try it whether or not you experienced the first Lost in Random game.
The British post-apocalyptic game from last year may draw you in within just a quarter of an hour.
Atomfall, a game blending infiltration and resource management by the makers of Sniper Elite, is also a game to check out. Ultimate tier members also have Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition to look forward to.
A Solid, Curated Lineup
In summary, this isn't a revolutionary update to Game Pass, and they don't represent massive exclusive blockbusters that justify the service by themselves. However, this batch of games are rock solid. The lineup provides a solid mix of past releases that passed you by and fairly new titles that failed to receive the spotlight they deserved the first time around — rendering them perfect candidates to find a new audience on Game Pass.
Be prepared to say goodbye to The Grinch Christmas Adventures, however.
