Star Denies Anti-Vax Stance Following Narrating Disputed Pandemic Feature

Liam Neeson has provided his vocal talents to a feature-length documentary that casts doubt on the legitimacy of immunizations and commends one-time government figure RFK Jr.

The Feature's Contentious Origins

Named "Plague of Corruption," the project is adapted from a bestselling book published by a controversial scientist, who rose to infamy during the pandemic for assertions that the virus was caused by a faulty batch of the flu vaccine.

Her co-author, the executive producer, has also written books with far-right radio host a known commentator. Heckenlively recently posted hailing Neeson's involvement in the documentary.

A Strong Statement

The team of Neeson have provided a comment strongly denying suggestions that he subscribes to anti-vax beliefs.

"Everyone can acknowledge that misconduct may occur within the drug industry, but that should never be conflated with rejection of vaccines," the comment reads. "Liam is not, and remains not, anti-vaccination. His considerable work with the global charity highlights his long-held support for public-health initiatives."

It continued that the star was not involved in crafting the documentary's editorial content and that inquiries about its content ought to go to the filmmakers.

Key Claims Within the Feature

As presented, the narration spoken by Neeson makes several provocative claims:

  • It states that pro-immunization voices have called for "complete compliance" to health authorities.
  • It declares that "medical science has become highly influenced by politics."
  • Robert F Kennedy Jr is shown claiming, "The major issue with vaccines is that they simply are not safely tested."
  • It also criticizes Covid lockdowns, arguing they caused severe distress that cost thousands of lives.
  • Concerning the immunizations, it cites a view that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "risky trials."

Past Background and Ongoing Debates

The film includes a historical film about clinical trials on children, which was subsequently the focus of a BBC apology by the broadcaster for violations of guidelines.

Recently, Kennedy directed the Centers for Disease Control to alter its longstanding position that there is no causal relationship between immunizations and autism spectrum disorder. This assertion is also referenced in the film, despite a recent study from the global health body reiterating no such link has been found.

A Past Statement of Advocacy

Standing in contrast to the film's narrative, Neeson has previously voiced firm endorsement for vaccines in his role as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.

In 2022, he called vaccines as "a remarkable triumph," stating that "The discourse about vaccines in lately has overlooked how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in history."

The film concludes with Neeson's script saying, "This is not the conclusion of our narrative. Rather, it is the beginning of a fresh chapter."
